The revision of the tariffs imposed by the United States on Brazilian products on November 21 brought relief to the beef, fruit, and part of the coffee sectors. For instant coffee, however, the taste of the high tariff is still bitter, as the taxes against the product remain in effect. According to data from the Brazilian Association of Instant Coffee Industry (Abics), exports of instant coffee to the North American market fell by 77.7% in November compared to the same month last year. Since January 2025, shipments have totaled a 22.8% drop compared to 2024. In a statement following the retreat of the Donald Trump administration, the entity lamented that instant coffee continues to be overtaxed. "The tariffs contrast with the overall progress in bilateral negotiations and represent a continuous challenge for the sector," the statement said.
