Jacob Aktalan of MG Fruit in the Netherlands has reported that melon sales are surpassing expectations, with the overseas season ending well and the Spanish season still meeting market demand despite some quality issues with Galias. Seedless melons are particularly popular, commanding prices of 1.40/1.50 euros per kilo for watermelons and 9/10 euros for Spanish Galias. The upcoming season may be less voluminous due to increased costs and less planting, but the warm weather is expected to keep sales strong.
