Peru has seen a significant increase in fruit exports, reaching USD 3.8 billion in 2020 and ranking among the top 10 fruit exporting countries in the world since 2017. The country's growth in the fruit export market has been driven by the United States and the EU-28, with grapes, blueberries, and avocados being the primary exports. Peru has emerged as a key supplier, shifting the balance of power among southern hemisphere suppliers, and has nearly doubled its table grape production since 2001, exporting to over 50 countries. The value of U.S. table grape imports from Peru has more than doubled in the past five years, reaching over USD 480 million in 2019, and Peru was the second largest exporter in the world in 2019, following Chile.
