In Mersin's Mut district, which contributes 20% to Turkey's olive and olive oil production, a significant harvest of 200 thousand tons of olives and 13 thousand tons of olive oil is anticipated from 15 million trees over 300 thousand decares. This productive season has led to a decrease in olive oil prices from 200-250 TL to 160 TL per year, a situation that while beneficial for consumers, is not welcomed by producers due to the lower purchasing prices for their high-quality, zero acid olives and olive oil.
