Approximately 20 dairies are processing to be added to the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) register in Bulgaria, with a focus on producing cow yogurt and cheese. This move, prompted by European regulations, aims to ensure the supply of high-quality dairy products to children's establishments and retail outlets located on school premises. The initiative is part of Ordinance No. 2/2021 and is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, anticipating it will boost domestic milk production and increase the value added for Bulgarian producers.
