The Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Yogurt and Dairy Desserts (AEFY) is advocating for the inclusion of natural yogurt and natural fermented milk in school menus to promote children's health and reduce the VAT rate on these products to 4%. The president, Antoni Bandrés, highlighted the potential health benefits and the role of schools in promoting healthy eating habits. A study presented at the AEFY meeting indicated that while 35% of children consume yogurt daily, there is potential for increased consumption, especially at breakfast. The study also found that parents value foods that are nutritionally complete, natural, and liked by their children for a balanced breakfast.
