China: Yunnan Academy of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine carries out rescue collection and protection of Lincang long-haired goat genetic resources

On July 15, a delegation of scientific and technical personnel from the Yunnan Academy of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine went to Yunnan Xindeshun Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Kunming City to carry out rescue collection and protection of Lincang long-haired goat genetic resources, and collect and produce genetic materials. The Lincang long-haired goat is the only goat breed listed in the "red list" of 15 breeds that were not found in the second livestock and poultry genetic resources survey by the National Census Office. The number of stocks is extremely small and there is a risk of extinction.
