Late yesterday, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov met with the leadership of the National Sheep and Goat Breeders Association (NOKA), who were informed that the cabinet is working hard until the end of the year to ensure that farmers affected by the disease receive the full amount of compensation for the destroyed animals. Agricultural Minister Georgi Tahov was also present at the meeting. According to the Prime Minister, the measures taken against the spread of the dangerous disease have yielded results. The Minister added that from 100 outbreaks in the summer, there are currently only four. The situation is under control, with monitoring for any potential threat of a new wave. Just days ago, NOKA Co-Chairman Simeon Karakolev warned that there is already a third wave of the disease spreading in sheep in Greece, resulting in the euthanasia of 450,000 animals.
