Zimbabwean growers are investing €127 million to develop 4,000 hectares of blueberries, as the crop had the highest growth in local horticulture last year. The Horticulture Development Council has approached the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency with a plan to expand blueberry cultivation, as well as citrus, coffee, and flowers. According to a crop assessment report, Zimbabwe is expected to harvest 69% more blueberries this year, showing the largest growth among horticultural crops.
