In W34 in the mandarin landscape, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports that global mandarin production for the 2022/23 season is projected to be 900 thousand tons lower YoY, totaling 36.9 million tons. Due to adverse weather, mandarin production in China and Morocco is decreasing, affecting local consumption and exports. Additionally, mandarin exports are also estimated to be lower, with a third less exports from Morocco due to the decline in production. Meanwhile, Spanish exports of oranges and mandarins have declined by 25% due to adverse weather conditions.

In Korea, Jeju Island has requested cooperation from the Russian Primorsky Krai government to expand exports of Jeju tangerines to Russia. Jeju tangerine exports to Russia increased from 686 tons in 2019 to 5.4 thousand tons in 2021. The Jeju Governor discussed the relationship between Jeju and Maritime Province and requested support for tangerine exports. The Russian Vice-President promised practical discussions and expressed interest in tourism exchange. Additionally, the Jeju Governor expanded regional diplomacy to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with major cities in Northeast Asia.

Lastly, Australia's citrus industry is also facing challenges, particularly related to weather conditions affecting the size and quality of the fruit. Moreover, the mandarin season in Queensland is expected to end earlier than usual.
