Industry News: Cargill topped the inaugural Edible Oil Supplier Index 2025 from the Access to Nutrition Initiative (ATNi). The company was recognized for proactively eliminating industrially produced trans-fatty acids (iTFAs) from its entire global portfolio, even in unregulated markets, achieving a score of 81.4% that far surpassed competitors. By Jan-24, Cargill became the first global supplier known to be fully compliant with the World Health Organization's (WHO) iTFA limits. This long-term initiative has removed over 1.5 billion pounds of iTFA-containing products from the food chain, successfully helping brands like Mexico's Chantilly to reformulate recipes without sacrificing quality. Given that less than half the global population is covered by iTFA regulations, ATNi has positioned Cargill's actions as an example for the industry to follow.
