The Bangladesh government has announced a 22-day ban on the activities related to hilsa fish, which will commence on October 7 and end on October 28. The ban aims to protect mother hilsa during their breeding season. During the ban period, no fishing, selling, hoarding, or transporting of hilsa will be permitted in six districts, including Barishal, Chandpur, Laxmipur, Bhola, Shariatpur, and Patuakhali. The ban will be enforced in specific sanctuaries across these districts to ensure the survival of the mother hilsa, a crucial fish species for Bangladesh's fish production.
