Malatya, known as the world apricot capital, is experiencing a boom in dried apricot exports, generating significant revenue despite the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia war. From August to February, exports totaled 57,528 tons, earning $251 million and bringing in $28 million in February alone. The country is aiming for an annual export target of $500 million with 100,000 tons, with a focus on new markets like China, where exports have increased, and Kazakhstan, where there was previously limited export activity.
