Turkey is set to conclude the 2021-2022 hazelnut export season with an estimated 335 thousand tons of sales, marking a significant increase from the previous season's 295 thousand tons. Hazelnuts, also known as 'green gold,' are exported to 124 countries, with Germany, Italy, and France being the primary markets. The Chinese market is experiencing steady growth and is anticipated to rank among the top five importers of Turkish hazelnuts in the future. Additionally, India, known for its high nut consumption, is a target market for increased promotional activities. The export season will officially close on August 31, with Turkey aiming to maintain revenue at $2 billion despite the anticipated increase in exports.
