The National Food Safety Authority, in its 19th weekly report covering the period from May 24 to 30, 2025, announced the export of 4,725 food shipments weighing over 205,000 tons for the benefit of 1,500 Egyptian companies, including more than 600 varieties of vegetables, fruits, flour, and various food products. Onions topped the list of exported Egyptian vegetables during the week with around 20,000 tons, followed by potatoes with 15,000 tons, and sweet potatoes with 5,000 tons, totaling 53,000 tons from 53 varieties. In terms of fruits, citrus fruits led with 20,000 tons, followed by strawberries with 16,000 tons, and fresh grapes with 15,000 tons, bringing the total exported fruits to around 57,000 tons from 26 varieties. The list of top importing countries included the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and the United States, among 205 countries that received Egyptian food exports during the week.
