5.4 tons of apples from Chungju, North Chungcheong Province were shipped for export to the United States through the Chungbuk Horticultural Cooperative, worth about 27 million won, and are scheduled to be sold through the Los Angeles Korean Market. Apples from Chungju have been steadily exported to the United States since 2011, and this year's export target is 10 tons, managed through 100% contract farming with farmers for apple export. The Chungju Regional Distribution Center is responsible for managing the quality of the exported apples.
