Spain: 7,192 tonnes of horse mackerel quota more for the Bay of Biscay in the remainder of 2021

The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published today the Resolution of August 4, 2021 of the General Secretariat of Fisheries by which the 7,192 tons of horse mackerel quota of the JAX / 2A-14 stock assigned is distributed among the different Spanish fleets to Spain in 2021. For their assignment, the criteria established in Order APA / 315/2020 that regulates fishing opportunities in the Kingdom of Spain have been used. The quota has been divided between the Spanish purse seine vessels that fish in national waters of zone 8b, very close to France, and the vessels that fish in Community waters. For the latter, 700 tonnes are assigned jointly, which will allow this fleet to face the by-catches carried out both of horse mackerel and mackerel and thus be able to comply with the landing obligation.
