The Lviv region in Ukraine is seeing significant vegetable sowing activities, with cabbage taking the lead at 15,000 hectares, followed by carrots, onions, and table beets. Igor Dydiv, an associate professor at the Lviv National University of Nature Management, highlighted the region's favorable soil and climatic conditions for diverse vegetable cultivation, particularly the borscht variety. The region's soil types and the ample rainfall it receives are well-suited for vegetable farming. A notable portion of the region's potato cultivation is done by private households, accounting for 96% of the sown areas, with the remainder being industrial production.
