In its forecast for 2025, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) stated that hazelnut and walnut production will decrease by approximately 27.5% and 27.7%, respectively. The current wholesale price of hazelnuts is up to 30% higher compared to April of this year. Several reports indicate that agricultural producers in Turkey's highland regions, where frost damage is most severe, have lost between 50% and 100% of their harvest.
