A consignment of 14 thousand tons Argentine citrus fruits exported to Russia and EU

Argentina's National Health and Food Service (SENASA) has certified a record consignment of fruits weighing about 14 thousand tons for export to Russia and the EU. Approximately 7,300 pallets are placed in the hold and another 5,000 pallets are loaded into 250 containers used on the deck of a ship leaving the port of Campana in the province of Buenos Aires, writes FruitNews. In total, there are 6,400 pallets of lemons, 5,000 pallets of oranges, 860 pallets of tangerines, 166 pallets of pears and 6 pallets of walnuts in the batch.
More than 3.5 million tons of citrus fruits are produced in Argentina annually. In 2020, the export of this type of fruit amounted to 365 thousand tons. 68% of supplies are lemons, 22% are oranges and almost 10% are tangerines.
