EU: A difficult July for the apple trade, not only in Poland

It is not only on the Polish market that we have seen stagnation in the apple market in the summer. In Italy and Germany, prices have dropped significantly. In July, average apple prices in the European Union dropped slightly. The reasons should be sought in the drop in demand for fruit and in lower exports. In Poland, the most striking example of this phenomenon was the sale of dessert apples for processing, primarily the Golden Delicious variety. Although the prices for sorted apples in Poland increased slightly in July, the drops in Germany, France and Italy lower the average. Last month, a kilogram of sorted apples in Poland cost an average of PLN 2.86. Anyone involved in the industry knows without a deeper analysis that this is very little.
