The Egyptian government has imported around 50,000 tons of frozen Brazilian chickens to address the local market's needs and reduce poultry prices. However, concerns were raised about the slaughtering method of these chickens, with claims that they were not slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law. Despite this, the Chamber of Commerce has announced a significant decrease in poultry prices, with the price of chicken per kilo dropping by 30 pounds. Mohamed Sayed Al-Nawawi, a member of the Importers Division of the Chamber of Commerce, confirmed that these chickens are slaughtered in compliance with Islamic law and Egyptian standard specifications.
