A 200-hectare nursery for breeding endangered red deer has been opened in Tajikistan's Sughd region, with President Emomali Rahmon attending the opening ceremony. The nursery, located in the Khurramdara gorge, is favorable for growing rare animals and has already received 30 European red deer from Belarus. The breeding program aims to increase the numbers of the Tugai subspecies of red deer, which has suffered greatly during the country's war and is listed in the Red Book of Tajikistan.
