Da Huoai, a leading district in Lam Dong province, is pioneering durian cultivation with approximately 5,000 hectares, expecting to yield around 40,000 tons from 3,501 hectares. The district is investing in quality control and export standards, with around 800 hectares meeting GlobalGAP and organic standards for both domestic and international markets. The opening of the Chinese market has boosted export prices, making durian farming more profitable. Lam Dong aims to further develop its agriculture sustainably, converting mixed gardens to specialized fruit and specialty tree cultivation, particularly durian, banana, avocado, and passion fruit. The province also plans to expand durian cultivation by an additional 18,500 hectares by 2025, focusing on the southern districts.
