A Swiss company will set up the processing of soy, corn, and hemp in southern Kazakhstan.

A new agricultural cluster is planned to be built in the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan. The Swiss company Harvest Agro has expressed interest in investing 51 billion tenge in the region to implement a project for the processing of industrial crops, reports the agency APK News.

According to the press service of the Akimat of the Kyzylorda region, a tripartite framework agreement between Harvest Agro, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Akimat for the creation of a large agro-industrial cluster was signed on the sidelines of the recently held Global Investment Forum.

It is reported that Harvest Agro intends to form a large-scale agricultural-industrial complex covering an area of about 20 thousand hectares, focused on the cultivation and processing of industrial varieties of hemp, corn, and soybeans. The project's infrastructure will include a fat and oil enterprise with a processing capacity of about 60 thousand tons of products annually, creating jobs for one hundred and fifty employees. The investment volume in the project is estimated at 51 billion tenge.
