The Brazilian Zebu Breeders Association inspects zebu animals for genealogical registration in Guatemala

The Brazilian Zebu Breeders Association (ABCZ) continues to promote the international expansion of zebu breeds. In Guatemala, a Central American country, this week, the inspection of approximately 1,500 animals of the Gir, Guzerá, Nelore, Nelore Mocho, Sindi and Tabapuã breeds began, in order to grant genealogical registration. The classification is carried out by ABCZ technician Eric Luís da Costa, together with AGCEBU technicians, who are being trained to carry out the next inspections in the country. In this phase, approximately 20 farms in all regions of Guatemala are being visited. “Many animals in the country come from embryos produced with Brazilian genetics. There are many quality animals and this first stage of classification is essential to establish the standard of the specimens that will enter the genealogical registry”, highlights ABCZ technician Eric da Costa.
