The Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (Abras) forecasts a 2.7% increase in household consumption by 2025, driven by a stronger job market and improved income. This builds on a three-year positive trend with inflation, the rising dollar, higher Selic rates, fuel price increases, and a slower job growth rate potentially impacting the outlook. Abras predicts that the cost of a basket of 35 consumer products will rise by 1.10% in January 2025, and the cost of a basket of 12 basic foods will increase by 0.71% in the same month.
