Acceptance of applications for humane treatment of birds and pigs begins in Bulgaria

From today (May 10, 2024), the regional directorates of the State Fund "Agriculture" began accepting applications for participation in the schemes "Assistance for the implementation of voluntarily undertaken commitments for the humane treatment of pigs and "Assistance for the implementation of voluntarily undertaken commitments for humane attitude towards birds". In 2024, pig farmers and poultry farmers will receive a total of BGN 84 million under welfare schemes, the press office of the State Fund for Agriculture informed. Documents for the state aid for humane treatment of birds are submitted by May 22, and the payment of the aid will start from May 30, 2024. The amount of financial support for 2024, determined by the Management Board of the DFZ, is BGN 42 million.
