Caldera fishermen develop horse mackerel fry to share with the community in Chile

Caldera artisanal fishermen carried out a frying of horse mackerel to celebrate with the community and thank the activation, by the Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Subpesca), of 12,500 tons of this resource as a contingency quota. Hundreds of people attended the event, which took place in the open air, with the proper sanitary protection, to enjoy more than four thousand jacks of horse mackerel, which they could taste in a format of delicious and forceful marine steaks. The Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Alicia Gallardo Lagno, highlighted: "We are very happy with the economic reactivation that the Atacama Region is experiencing thanks to artisanal fishing for horse mackerel.
