The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have collaborated to offer a US$3 million technical cooperation package to aid the agricultural sector in overcoming the challenges of the Wuhan pneumonia epidemic. The project aims to enhance the food system's long-term resilience, providing immediate technical and policy support, and offering strategic input for post-epidemic food system transformation. The initial focus will be on urban food investment, low-carbon or zero-carbon value chains, and improved distribution systems, including e-commerce. The partnership will also support the Tunisian olive oil industry in implementing epidemic prevention measures and promoting the transformation into high-value export products.
