Additive shows antioxidant effect in tilapia, study says

Brazilian aquaculture is currently seeking solutions that enhance productivity and quality in fish farming. Among the sector's innovations, a nutritional additive developed by an industry specializing in animal nutrition inputs has gained traction following a study conducted by the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid, in Mossoró, which verified positive effects in the cultivation of Nile tilapia. The research pointed out that feed supplemented with the product resulted in greater weight gain, better feed conversion, and increased resistance to oxidative stress. Technicians identified superior performance in the ranges of 1500 to 2000 g per ton of feed, an interval considered adequate for maintaining metabolic stability.
