The seizure took place in a Lipari canned food industry identified among those authorized for the processing and packaging of the famous "Caper of the Aeolian Islands", a fundamental ingredient of Mediterranean cuisine. During the checks, the military focused attention on a supply of capers stored in numerous drums lacking the prescribed commercial indications. The merchant was unable to document the origin of the product and therefore the NAS proceeded to seize all the goods.
