Italy has seen eight more companies infected with African swine fever, bringing the total number of animals involved to 13,000. These latest outbreaks are outside the initial infected area in northern Italy, showing the virus is spreading further. Sweden reported its first case of African swine fever, with seven new cases in wild boars, and the Swedish Animal Health Institute believes the infection was introduced through human action, ruling out spread via wild boars. Additionally, new cases have been reported in Russia, Serbia, and Poland, and African swine fever has also broken out in Mongolia after four years of being free from the disease.
