The Korea Institute of Agricultural Technology Promotion (President Ahn Ho-geun, hereinafter referred to as "KIATP") announced on the 23rd that sesame seed production in the seed production complex in Andong, Gyeongbuk, which suffered significant damage from large-scale wildfires at the beginning of the year, proceeded without any issues as planned, and some farms achieved results exceeding the planned production volume. Due to the wildfire that occurred at the end of March this year, the Andong seed production complex faced serious difficulties, including the complete destruction of residential areas and damage to agricultural materials for many farms. In this situation, the KIATP conducted an on-site inspection immediately after the damage and swiftly implemented and carried out comprehensive support measures to minimize disruptions in seed production. The KIATP particularly focused on the sesame seed-producing farms that suffered significant damage.
