Ukraine is increasing its fertilizer imports amid a decline in domestic production due to the war, with Poland becoming the largest supplier of this product to the Ukrainian market, surpassing Bulgaria, Morocco, and China, writes Latifundist.com. It is noted that, according to analysts from ProAgro Group, Ukraine entered the spring of 2026 with a significant deficit. Although 3.285 million tons of fertilizers were imported in 2025 (which is 13% more than the previous year), the total demand of the sector for this year exceeds 5 million tons. The demand for the nitrogen group is growing most critically. Polish companies are showing steady revenue growth in the Ukrainian market: 2022 - $251 million; 2024 - $319 million; 2025 (preliminary) - over $350 million. The Chairman of the Board of Grupa Azoty, Marcin Celęcki, confirms that exports to Ukraine are increasing, and demand from Ukrainian counterparties is creating a "queue" for the products.
