Cooperativa Agrária and Ireks do Brasil announced an investment of R$ 1.1 billion in an ambitious industrial project in the district of Entre Rios, in Guarapuava (PR). The plan provides for the construction of two new plants, the modernization of the existing malthouse, and the implementation of a new laboratory analysis center and an integrated logistics center. The investment was formalized this Tuesday (11) with the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior and the president of Agrária, Adam Stemmer, within the scope of the Paraná Competitivo program, which grants fiscal incentives to strategic projects. With the new complex, Agrária will become the first cooperative in Brazil to produce specialty malts, such as caramelized and roasted malts, which are currently 100% imported.
