The Stavropol Territory in Russia has started exporting chickpeas and peas to Pakistan, marking the first time these products have been exported to the South Asian country. The exports took place in several districts of the region, with 1.1 thousand tons of food chickpeas and 220 tons of dried peas being shipped. The quality of the exported products was controlled to ensure compliance with both Russian and Pakistani requirements. In 2022, the region's agricultural product exports increased by 15% to $556 million, with Saudi Arabia, China, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, and Turkey being the main importers. The region is expanding its exports to the Middle East and Asia, including into new markets.
