A farmer, Mr. Tran Van Chinh, in Long An province, Vietnam, switched his 3 hectares of unproductive rice land to grow dragon fruit, durian, and jackfruit in 2016, but faced challenges due to Covid-19 and a drop in dragon fruit prices. However, the flowering and fruiting of his durian trees in 2020 offered a new opportunity. With the support of Agribank, he expanded his durian cultivation to about 12 hectares and sold 12 tons at a high price, earning a profit of 1.5 billion VND. Agribank's low-interest loans and flexible lending options have aided many farmers in the province to convert to fruit tree cultivation, adapt to climate change, and improve production efficiency.
