Vietnam: Agricultural product exports to Europe increased, despite difficulties caused by the epidemic

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 epidemic, Vietnam has managed to increase its agricultural exports to the European market, with the export turnover of agricultural and aquatic products reaching 22.58 billion USD in the first five months of the year, a 30.1% increase from the same period in 2020. The country has also seen a significant growth in the export value of key products such as seafood, cashew nuts, and fruits. The EU is the third largest market for Vietnam's agricultural exports, with seafood exports to the EU in the first five months of 2021 reaching 390.4 million USD, an increase of 15% from the same period in 2020. The country is also experiencing a resurgence in coffee exports to the EU, with Germany and Italy being the largest consumer markets. Additionally, the EU is the second largest market for Vietnam's cashew nut consumption. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is implementing various solutions to further increase exports and prepare for the post-COVID-19 solution for the main export markets.
