Coffee and pepper prices in Vietnam are fluctuating between 42,300 - 42,900 VND/kg and 67,000 - 70,000 VND/kg respectively. The USDA forecasts a global coffee production increase of 4.7% in the 2022-2023 coffee year. Meanwhile, global coffee exports in May reached 10.8 million bags, a 10% year-on-year increase. However, quarter two saw a 2-5% drop in coffee prices due to tight monetary policy and an abundant supply. In China, pepper growers are worried about the sharp drop in selling prices due to the Covid-19 pandemic's economic impact, while consumers are dealing with falling prices across various goods.
