The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has commended the collaboration between the General Authority for Veterinary Services, the Agricultural Research Center, and the Central Administration of Foreign Agricultural Relations in fulfilling the requirements for exporting honey bees to Saudi Arabia. Since the lifting of the ban, 11 shipments containing 10,456 honey bee parcels have been exported. Egyptian apiaries undergo regular inspections and only those that meet the conditions set by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) are permitted to export. Egypt has not imported bees for the past five years.
