The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Egypt has announced the successful administration of 602,581 doses of the lumpy skin disease vaccine for cattle and sheep pox for sheep, as part of a nationwide immunization campaign that started on January 22. The campaign has so far vaccinated 446,702 cows, 139,556 sheep, and 16,323 goats. The vaccinations are being distributed through veterinary departments at livestock gatherings and markets, with strict COVID-19 precautions in place. The Ministry is encouraging farmers to collaborate and ensure the vaccination of their livestock to safeguard their animal wealth and contribute to food security.
