Capt. Thammanat Phromphao, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, launched a project in Na Khok Subdistrict, Samut Sakhon Province, to enhance sea salt production for the 2023/24 season. The initiative aims to support sea salt farmers by managing costs, stabilizing prices, and providing loans to delay sales. Financial support includes up to 250 baht per ton for management and distribution costs, and loans at 80% of the average price for medium quality sea salt, capped at 1,200 baht per ton. The project seeks to alleviate farmers' hardships, boost economic development, and sustain the salt farming profession for future generations.
