The Guatemalan agricultural sector has managed to consolidate itself, in the last year, as the first export sector in Guatemala, currently generating around 2.3 million jobs throughout the country. Among its main trading partners we can mention the United States, Canada, Honduras, Costa Rica and El Salvador, among others. According to the latest figures from the Bank of Guatemala, regarding non-traditional agricultural products, it stands out that fruits have grown by 7%, especially in papaya, lemons, mangosteen, banana, pineapple, berries, avocado, melon and watermelons; reflecting an export amount of US$307 million, followed by peas and vegetables with US$270 million.
