Agro-exports from Peru experienced a 17% increase in the January-August period of this year, reaching a sales value of US $ 4.982 million, as reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation. The agricultural trade balance showed a surplus of US $ 952 million during the first eight months. The key contributors to this growth were fresh avocado, grapes, semolina flour, starch, and blueberries, among other products. Non-traditional exports, which made up 95% of the total, saw an increase of 19% compared to the previous year, with fruit and vegetable exports alone increasing by 22%. The United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Chile, and England were the top 10 destination markets for Peruvian agricultural exports in the first eight months of the year.
