Agro-exports of Peru grew by 17% between January and August

According to the criteria of Agro-exports grew by 17% in the period January-August of this year compared to what was registered last year when adding sales of US $ 4,982 million, reported this Monday the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri). In the first eight months of the year, the agricultural trade balance registered a surplus of US $ 952 million. The products with the greatest contribution to growth in the first eight months of the year were: fresh avocado (+ 43%), fresh grapes (+ 12%), other food preparations of semolina flour, starch, starch, or malt extract (+ 3573% ), blueberries (+ 20%), fresh asparagus (+ 15%), preparations used to feed animals (+ 24%), carded or combed fine hair of alpaca or llama (+ 96%), other fruits (+ 28%), tara powder (+ 92%) and tara seed mucilage (+ 172%), among others. Of the value exported between January-August, agricultural exports of traditional products represented 5%, while non-traditional exports the remaining 95%.
