In May 2021, Brazil's agricultural exports experienced a 33.7% increase compared to the same period in 2020, totaling US$ 13.9 billion, marking the fourth month of consecutive growth in 2021. The total exports revenue from January to May reached US$ 50.2 billion, showing a 21.9% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The trade surplus for May was US$ 12.7 billion, the highest in the past 12 months. Soy beans were the top export product with a value of US$ 7.3 billion, followed by raw cane sugar. China was the leading destination for these exports, with a 45.8% share. This growth is attributed to the economic recovery and the demand for commodities. The CNA is working on the Agro.BR project to increase the diversity of Brazil's export products, with a notable increase in bee product exports in May. There was also a significant rise in dairy exports and exports in the fruit, fish, and tea, mate, and spices sectors.
