The agribusiness sector in the state of São Paulo recorded a surplus of US$ 4.49 billion in the first quarter of 2026, according to data from the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo. The result was driven by exports of US$ 6.03 billion, against imports of US$ 1.54 billion. In the period, the sector accounted for 38.5% of the state's total exports, while imports represented 7.4%. The performance occurs in a context of a deficit in the general trade balance of the state of São Paulo, which showed a negative balance of US$ 5.24 billion in the same period. According to the analysis, exports to the Middle East declined in March, with a 17.5% drop compared to the previous year, while sales to Iran decreased by 8.5% over the quarter.
