Agrometeorological conditions in the third decade of October were satisfactory for the initial growth and development of winter crops. This was emphasized by agrometeorologists from the Ukrhydrometeorological Center in their decadal report, writes APK-Inform. "The rains observed throughout the country contributed to replenishing the soil moisture reserves. As of October 31, the reserves of productive moisture in the soil were sufficient and optimal on most areas. Even in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Odesa regions, where severe drought had lasted for 3-5 months, effective October rains significantly improved moisture supply and, in combination with warm weather, created favorable conditions for the initial growth of winter crops. At the end of the month, early sowings of winter wheat showed the beginning of tillering, while on the remaining areas, seed germination, emergence, and the formation of the third leaf were observed," the report stated.
