The Ghana Drunkards Association, representing beverage consumers and bar owners, has announced an increase in the prices of locally-produced gin due to new government taxes on alcoholic beverages. The new minimum prices will be GH₵3 for Akpeteshi (raw), GH₵4 for Mahogany, GH₵4 for Kraman kote, and GH₵4 for Yellow. The association's president, Moses Onyah, explained that the price hikes are necessary for bar and restaurant owners to effectively trade with manufacturers or local distillers.
