A collaboration between producers, private companies, and international organizations, including Biofábrica Siglo XXI, Bonsucro, IICA, Sader, UNC-CNPR, Syngenta, and Biome Makers, has been formed to promote the National Technology Transfer Program to enhance the sustainable and profitable production of sugar cane in Mexico. The program focuses on biotechnological research and development, as well as technical assistance for producers. The initial year of the Bonsucro Impact Fund Project saw a significant increase in yield and producer income by using microbial biofertilizers. The alliance aims to further improve productivity and sustainability in sugar cane through the use of biofertilizers, organic matter, biological pest and disease control, mechanized crop substitution, and efficient water use.
